Forever Young
Previous letter
On the 26th of June we all met at the Golden Corral in Columbus
for lunch. There were 18 present and
we had a good meal and great time together.
Lucy Boyd joined us and it was good to see her again.
Our July meeting will be a wiener roast and picnic on July
24 at the WCC shelter house. We’ll
plan to eat at 6:00 pm with hotdogs, buns, and table service provided.
We’ll need volunteers to bring the following items, along with a salad, side
dish or dessert to round out the meal:
Drinks (pop, lemonade, tea), ice, freezer of homemade ice cream, condiments (ketchup/mustard/relish/onions/coney
sauce, etc.), and makings for smores.
please see me
if you can provide any of these items.
Al and Jerry have graciously (??) agreed to provide the wood and tend the
fire. You should
probably bring along a lawn chair.
If anyone has yard games they would like to bring, that would also be appreciated.
Our trip to Pigeon Forge is not too far away (9/16-19). Part of our group plan to go on to the
Biltmore Mansion in Asheville, N.C. on
either Wednesday or Thursday, and we need
to know if you are interested in going with them.
Please let me know if you want to be a part of that extra side-trip. As of now, we have 2 king-bed rooms
and 1 queen-bed room that are not spoken for.
See me if you need any info or would like to go along with us.
A
planning meeting will be held prior to the trip, especially
for the first-timers. This trip has
always been one of the highlights of our year, and we’d love
to share the good times with anyone interested in going with us.
Hope to see a good crowd for our wiener roast on the 24th!
Phyllis
